The subject of "water" is so important, interesting and extensive that it cannot be discussed comprehensively in just a few words. The fact that water - together with oxygen - is considered essential for life certainly does not need to be explained in detail here. However, due to the ongoing pollution of these two elements, it is becoming increasingly difficult for more and more people to consume pure air and healthy drinking water.
Leonardo da Vinci also devoted extensive studies to water; he called it "the blood of the planet," the primordial substance of all life. The biophysical elements of water never ceased to amaze him. It is a piece of art that the earth probably consists of about 2/3 water, analogous to the human organism.
Our organism has no water reserves that it can call up when needed, as is the case with the dromedary, for example. It can store large amounts of it in its stomach.
Its body temperature drops very much during the night, so that during the day the body warms up only slowly and it does not sweat for a long time.
Persistent water deficiency can lead to serious damage: The brain, liver and muscles react particularly sensitively, as the blood becomes thick and prevents an optimal supply of oxygen. Water transports nutrients, ferments, vitamins and trace elements to all organs. It is absolutely essential for the optimal functioning of the body's cells and all the tasks of blood and lymph.
Water flushes many toxins out of the body via the kidneys, intestines and skin. Even a fluid loss of just 2% can lead to serious limitations in physical and mental performance.
A fluid loss of ten percent of body weight leads to disorientation, dizziness, weakness and apathy, and even unconsciousness. In very severe cases, kidney and circulatory failure can occur.
