equisetum

Horsetail tea is very good for internal bleeding, kidney and liver problems, gout and dropsy. So that the stomach is not attacked, one of the following stomach herbs should always be added to this tea: sage, centaury or juniper. Horsetail wine is indicated for wheezing and pulmonary asthma, diarrhea and painful urinary complaints in old people. Due to its high silica content, horsetail primarily has a strengthening effect on connective tissue.

fragaria vesca

Wild strawberries have the greatest healing power. Herbal medicine uses everything from strawberries: the roots, the stems and leaves, the flowers and the fruit; everything has a cooling effect. Used externally, the whole plant helps with feverish toothache. Raw strawberry leaves applied to mosquito bites relieve any swelling. Strawberry leaf tea alleviates diarrhea and cleanses the kidneys and liver. The berries are an excellent remedy for gout and rheumatism.

fraxinus excelsior

In naturopathy, the bark, leaves and seeds are primarily used. Fresh ash bark is applied to wounds; it tightens and heals. The leaves excrete uric acid and are therefore highly valued for rheumatism and gout. The tea calms fevers, but you should always add a little mint or marjoram to it. Ash seed tea is good for dropsy, rheumatism and stone disease (1-2 cups daily in small doses). In Norse mythology, the ash tree was the world tree Yggdrasil.

genista

In naturopathy, the flowers and fruits (seeds) of broom are used in the form of tea as a diuretic for dropsy. Collection time: The flowers in June to August, the seeds in the fall.

glycyrrhiza glabra

Every child is familiar with licorice, at least indirectly through its thickened juice extract: licorice. Licorice can be added to all bitter teas. Especially in teas for hoarseness, coughs, sore throats and chest catarrh. The Greeks and Romans used the sap (succus liquiritiae) not only for sweetening, but also to treat stomach ulcers and asthma. Today, liquorice is said to have anti-viral, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, liver and heart-protective effects.

helianthemum vulgare

In naturopathy, the freshly crushed herb is used as a poultice to heal fresh wounds quickly. The decoction is an excellent gargle against mouth sores and loose teeth. Sunflower tea stops blood spitting and spurting, helps against dysentery and internal injuries caused by bumps or falls.

humulus lupulus

The flowers and fruits are primarily used. The old herbalists recommend hop shoots for spleen and liver constipation, jaundice and chest catarrh. Leaves and flowers - boiled in wine - have healing powers against dropsy. Hop cones mixed with sage make an effective tea for kidney and bladder stones and bedwetting. A hop pillow brings good sleep. It also promotes breast milk and helps with menstrual disorders and during the menopause.

hypericum perforatum

The botanical name "hypericum" was given to St. John's wort by the ancient Greeks, who wreathed this plant around the heads of their gods. In medicine, St. John's wort oil is particularly famous. It is the best and most effective household remedy for burns caused by fire, scalding, corrosive poisons (even internally), splashes of fat in the eye, wounds, abrasions and insect bites. Extremely effective for winter depression, burnout syndrome, premenstrual disorders, menopause and tinnitus.

juglans regia

Naturopathy uses the leaves, flowers, shoots and twigs, green and ripe nuts of the walnut tree. The leaves make an effective tea for rheumatism, an excellent remedy for diabetes, jaundice, ailments of the tonsils, throat, larynx, eyes and chilblains. Excellent head wash for hair loss. The tea purifies the blood and, after prolonged use, also cures bleaching / scrofula. Also helpful for acne, skin inflammation, eczema and psoriasis.

lavandula officinalis

Tavernaemontanus wrote: "A noble remedy against old and cold afflictions of the head, brain and nerves by strengthening, refreshing and warming them, especially if you add a little rosemary or sage, cinnamon bark, nails, nutmeg and boil it in wine or water and drink it". Lavender tea helps to cleanse the head of foreign substances and is therefore recommended for eye and ear complaints. Recommended for migraines, insomnia and inflamed wounds.
